The majority of the WMIL team were off the island from Tuesday 20th December 2005 to Tuesday 3rd January 2006. Paul Garner-Richards and Biz Bell returned on Thursday 29th December 2005.
Two volunteers (Ellie Burt and Corinna Goeckeritz) arrived on Saturday 7th January 2006. Two further volunteers failed to arrive (and have not been in contact with Bob Swann).A full project and Health and Safety briefing was given on Saturday afternoon.
Starting on Sunday 8th January, the bait stations are being cleared of bait (which has been in the stations since before the Christmas break). It is expected to take four days (with the lower number of personnel). Bait and monitoring stations will be replaced over the next week.
Monitoring stations have been interfered with by cattle, sheep and birds. Placement will be improved in certain areas to help reduce this. New bait depots have been established around the island, in advance of the new bait round.
