Volunteers are required to assist the WMIL team with the day to day work of the eradication programme. Normally volunteers will be expected to work a six-day week with Sunday off. The team usually works from 8 am to 6 pm, until later in winter when hours will reduce with available light. Volunteers will be provided with travel assistance to and from Canna, and free board and accommodation whilst on Canna.

The WMIL team will be re-visiting Canna from October-December 2006 to conduct intensive monitoring work to confirm the presence/absence of rats on the island. If rats are found poisoning will be resumed. If no rats are found, the bait station grid will be dismantled and a permanent monitoring grid established. Volunteers will be required to assist the team.
